‘Justice League’ Surpasses ‘Logan’ in Worldwide Box Office
As recent weekend box office indicates, Justice League has been a bit underwhelming in the United States, coming in second behind Disney Pixar’s Coco for a few weeks. However, the DC hero team-up movie will not be the lowest-grossing live-action superhero film.
Coming into this weekend, Justice League will have raked in $625 million since its release in mid-November. This amount leads indicates that the film surpasses Century Fox’s Logan, a standalone and the swan song film of Wolverine, which released in May earlier this year. Logan earned $616.8 million from box office sales.
Prior to Justice League‘s theatrical debut, early reports indicated that the film would need to gross $650 million to break even.
In looking at the other superhero movies this year from both Marvel and DC, Wonder Woman sits at $821.9 million, Thor: Ragnarok at $836 million, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at $863.6 million, and Spider-Man: Homecoming at $880.2 million.
