New ‘Stiens;Gate’ Anime Coming April 2018

Earlier this year fans were shocked to learn that the sequel to the 2011 time-travel thriller, Steins;Gate would be receiving an anime adaption. Since that announcement fans have patiently waited and nearly 5 months later we were finally given a premiere window of April 2018.

The anime adaptation for Steins;Gate 0, originally released on PS3, PS4, and Vita back in 2015 as a visual novel, will contain many of your favorite characters including Kurisu, Rintarou, and Mayuri. The story functions as an alternate ending to the original Stiens;Gate in which after a failed attempt to save Kurisu, the disheveled mad scientist abandons his alter ego.

With the announcement of the premiere, studio White Fox included a short trailer as a tease for what’s to come. The trailer opens on an apparition Kiursu seemingly leaving a message for Rintarou. As the message plays we’re shown scenes of a mourning Rintarou, joined by well-known characters and one fresh-face making a confrontational debut.

Be sure to check out the teaser trailer below!
