‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Gives Miles Morales the Stylish Aesthetic He Deserves

As Miles Morales zipped through traffic in Sony’s first trailer for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, you may have noticed a few frames which seemed like a classic comic book being brought to life.

This past weekend at CCXP 2017, writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller promised the vibrant comic book style was more than just a way of adding a little extra flare. Wanting the film to have its own cinematic feel, animators implemented, “line work and painting and dots and all sorts of comic book techniques,” masterfully combining hand-drawn and computer animation.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse is taking much-needed risks as fans grow tired of retellings of the same origin stories. In the upcoming film, we’ll experience Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore, explore a cyberpunk-esque New York City as he comes to terms with the fact he’s not the only web-slinger out there.

Hopefully Into the Spider-Verse is just the first taste of Sony’s animated take on the Spider-Man family. Who should be next? Spider-Gwen? Maybe a revival of Peter? Tweet at us and let us know who you would like to see featured in the next film!
