Netflix Dominates SAG Award TV Nominations
While the SAG Award movie nominations offered up some surprises, the TV side featured all the usual suspects.
The cast in a drama series category was almost a complete copy of the Emmys. The only change was Game of Thrones, which is a perennial winner, but was ineligible at the last awards.
With its nods for Stranger Things, The Crown, Ozark, Orange is the New Black and GLOW, Netflix is nominated in every drama and comedy category.
In an unsurprising blow, broadcast TV only received three nominations, with two of those for ABC’s Blackish for cast in a comedy series and actor for Anthony Anderson. Will and Grace’s Sean Hayes was the only other nominees.
These nominations are a testament to how audiences are watching TV now, with streaming services and premium cable the most represented networks.

Morgan Freeman will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award when the SAG Awards are hosted by Kristen Bell and air Sunday, Jan. 21, on TNT and TBS.
