Colton Haynes Returning in the Back Half of Arrow Season 6

Colton Haynes is reprising his role as Roy Harper shortly after Arrow returns next year. His return in the show’s sixth season will begin with an arc in episode 15.

Executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle said the following in a statement (via Variety):

“We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper for a short arc on Arrow this year.” The reasoning behind Harper’s return is being kept underwraps; however, he’ll “help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team.”

Despite the briefness of the character’s Star City comeback, it’ll spark “something surprising when he reunites with Thea [Willa Holland] and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences.”

Roy’s stint as the Arrow’s sidekick, Arsenal, lasts throughout much of Seasons 2 and 3. In the show’s third run, Roy takes the blame for the Arrow persona, diverting attention away from Oliver who was under investigation. The character reappeared in a fleeting arc during Season 4, wherein he was forced to comply with the demands of the villain, The Calculator. Apart from his dream-like appearance in the “Invasion!” crossover, the character has been absent since.

Arrow returns Thursday, January 18.
