‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Prominently Features Scott and Jean’s Relationship
One of the major storylines of X-Men’s Dark Phoenix Saga is the relationship between Jean Grey and Scott Summers/Cyclops.
In the previous movies, they were already adults so viewers didn’t get to see the origins of their romance. X-Men: Dark Phoenix will show how their devotion to one another evolved.
In Entertainment Weekly’s recent first look story on the film, it stated “The one mutant who never wavers from Team Jean is Scott (Tye Sheridan), a.k.a. Cyclops.”
Director Simon Kinberg elaborated on the importance of Scott’s journey to help Jean.
“That relationship, his being willing to kill or die for her, is a huge part of the emotional core of the movie,” said Kinberg. “It also makes Scott start to have to become a leader.”
Directed by Kinberg and starring Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy/Beast, Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver, Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Jessica Chastain, X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters November 2, 2018.
