Medievil Remake Set to Release on Playstation 4 in 2018

It has been revealed to Sony that Medievil, a remastered version of the original classic from 1998, will be making a comeback — this time on Playstation 4. The 1998 version was made for the original Playstation system, followed by the sequel MediEvil 2 released in 2000, and Medievil: Resurrection, a reimagined version in 2005.

This action-adventure game follows Sir Daniel Fortesque, the game’s protagonist, on a journey to protect Gallomere from the evil sorcerer Zarok, whom mistakenly resurrected Sir Daniel after dying in the first battle due to Zarok’s demons. In the original game, Sir Daniel was thought to be a hero in the first battle by the King of Gallomere, but then it was revealed that he was one of the first men to die. After being unwittingly resurrected, he has the chance to prove himself as the hero he was thought to be.

Though Sony has not set a specific release date for the remake, the game will be celebrating its 20th anniversary when it’s set to release in 2018.
