Bayonetta 3 is Resurrected on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo and Platinum Games are teaming up again to bring Bayonetta 3 exclusively to the Switch.

This past Friday during The Game Awards, Nintendo of America’s President, Reggie Fils-Amie scoffed at the suggestion he would travel to the event without blessing us with an announcement. With a Nintendo Switch snap, Reggie segued into a teaser trailer featuring Bayonetta up against the ropes, battling a mysterious ghost-like foe. The ominous battle ended with Bayonetta sinking to a knee before dropping her iconic dual pistols, signaling a possible defeat of the Umbra Witch.

While the trailer didn’t reveal much, fans rejoiced knowing Bayonetta will fight again despite the lackluster sales of the Wii U’s Bayonetta 2 release in 2014. Acknowledging the critical acclaim and passionate fanbase of the series, Nintendo also announced that Bayonetta 2 will be coming to the Switch on February 16, 2018. Similar to the original release, included with Bayonetta 2 will be a download code for the original making it easily accessible for those who are new to the series.

While we wait for the release date of Bayonetta 3, will the rerelease on the Switch be enchanting enough for you to pull out your wallet for the second time?
