Paramount Announces 2019 Release Date for Pet Sematary Remake
30 years after the Stephen King adaptation first hit the big screen, Paramount will bring Pet Sematary to life once more. According to Entertainment Weekly, the film remake opens in theaters on April 19, 2019.
The first Pet Sematary launched in 1989 and was helmed by Mary Lambert, while King adapted his novel into a script himself. Pet Sematary’s remake joins IT, The Dark Tower, Gerald’s Game and more in a long line of cross media projects, marking a grand comeback of Stephen King-adapted stories to the screen.
