It’s been a busy year for Michael B. Jordan, with the production of Black Panther and Fahrenheit 451 happening earlier this year, the announcement of his involvement in Creed 2 and that he’ll be taking his first step as a director with Stars Beneath Our Feet. And by the looks of it, he’ll be even more busy by next year.
According to Variety, Jordan will be the lead of Warner Bros. upcoming project, Just Mercy, the movie adaptation of the book Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption, the true story f Bryan Stevenson, a young defence lawyer who pledges for equal justice while he fights for the most vulnerable.
Directed by Destin Cretton (Short Term 12) and a script from Andrew Lanham and himself, produced by Jordan and Gil Netter, the film is set to premiere somewhere around 2018, maybe alongside Creed 2, maybe later.
Reportedly, Jordan is set to shoot Just Mercy in early 2018, followed up by Creed 2 production, and pre-production for Stars Beneath our Feet. As of this moment, there’s no news on whether there’ll be any changes in any of this films, as they report to stay on track with the release dates they had previously set.
