‘Stranger Things’ Gets a Third Season Renewal

To the surprise of no one, Netflix has renewed Stranger Things for a third season.

The series, about a group of kids fighting supernatural threats in their small town during the 80s, has become one of the streaming network’s most popular shows.

In the release, Netflix did not say when the show would return or how many episodes season three would be.

Season one was eight episodes, with season two being nine hours long.

Creators The Duffer Brothers have said the show was planned for four seasons. However, Netflix may not want to lose such a popular series so quickly.

The show’s young stars have become overnight sensations, with many of them booking movie roles. Millie Bobby Brown will be in the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Finn Wolfhard was in It and Caleb McLaughlin in The New Edition Story.

Season three is currently being written, which means it will probably film in spring or summer of 2018.

The first two seasons of Stranger Things are streaming on Netflix.
