Kerry Washington and Rashida Jones Teaming Up For A Film Adaption of Graphic Novel ‘Goldie Vance’

Kerry Washington and Rashida Jones are collaborating with 20th Century Fox to bring BOOM Studios! graphic novel, Goldie Vance, to the big screen.

The story, by Hope Larson and Brittney Williams, revolves around 16-year-old Goldie – who wants more than anything to realize her dream of becoming the in-house detective at a historic resort in Miami.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is being designed as a family film with franchise potential. Jones is set to adapt the story and direct the film which will be produced by Washington’s production company, Simpson Street.

In a statement, Washington said, “I’m ecstatic to be collaborating with Rashida and Boom! Studios on telling this story. Fox is the perfect home for this project. Goldie Vance will steal your heart. She’s already stolen mine!”

Jones is also equally excited about the project, especially the titular character and shared, “Goldie is exactly the kind of fearless, curious and funny heroine we need right now. I’m so honored to partner with Kerry Washington, Boom! Studios and Fox to bring her world to life.”
