David S. Goyer To Direct ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Movie
IT’S OFFICIAL!
The Masters Of The Universe film has found it’s General. Writer and Director David S. Goyer has been tapped to direct the film based on the popular Mattel toyline and cartoon series, The Wrap is reporting.
Goyer is the writer behind Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy and has also penned the scripts for other DC Comics properties such as Man Of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. He is also the scribe behind the Blade trilogy starring Wesley Snipes.
Goyer definitely has a mature and gritty perspective when it comes to filmmaking. If any of his past work gives us a hint on what we can expect from a movie centered on He-Man and his friends, we just may be in for a very entertaining ride.
The He-Man franchise started off as a Toyline and was then adapted into a hit animated series in 1983. It was then adapted into a live action film starring Dolph Lundgren in 1987. The story will take place on the fictional planet of Eternia and center on Prince Adam as he becomes the hero known as He-Man and tries to stop the villain Skeletor from conquering Castle Grayskull.
How many of our GOC fam are fans of He-Man? Is Goyer the right choice to adapt such a classic property? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
