CBS All Access Will Launch a Fairy Tale Thriller Titled ‘Tell Me a Story’

After the success CBS All Access had with Star Trek Discovery, the streaming service announced a series of new shows for their next year’s slate, such as the reboot for The Twilight Zone with Jordan Peele in charge and the new comedy No Activity.

Well, now it’s time to add a new show to that list as TV Guide has announced that CBS All Access has given Kevin Williamson the green light for his next project, a dark twist in the classic fairy tales we all know and love.

Based on the Spanish-language series by Marcos Osorio Vidal and taking place in present-day New York City, Tell Me a Story will give the classic fairy tales like “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” or “Jack and the Beanstalk” a brand new look, making them tales of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder, perfect for those who are fans of The Brothers Grimm and their fairytales.

For those who could be concerned about the fate of this show, let’s remember that Williamson is no stranger to the thriller genre as he wrote the screenplays for all four Scream films and was the co-creator of The Vampire Diaries -whether is it a thriller/horror or a drama show is a different story-.

What do you think about this show? Which classic fairytale would you like to see adapted on this show?

As of right now, there isn’t an official air date for this show, but it’ll most likely premiere by the end of 2018 or early 2019.
