Rumor Alert: Major Character To Die in ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

With production officially wrapped on the next installment of Fox’s mutant franchise X-Men: Dark Phoenix, fans are eagerly awaiting news about the film to be revealed. Back in 2006, the Brett Ratner directed X-Men: The Last Stand attempted to adapt the same comic storyline but the finished product was not well received.

Now Fox is attempting to try and tell that story again… the right way. This time Simon Kinberg will be sitting in the director’s chair for the first time and has promised that the film will do the popular storyline the justice it deserves.

The official release date for Dark Phoenix is almost a year away but That Hashtag Show is claiming that an inside source has informed them that a key player in the franchise will meet their demise as a result of Jean Grey’s growing powers.

The report says that Kinberg wanted to display just how dangerous Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner, can be. At this point, there are only four actors who have been there since this particular mutant trilogy started back in 2011 with X-Men: First Class so the speculation points to James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult or Jennifer Lawrence.

Lord please let it be J.Law. Oops, did I type that out loud. Apologies!

In The Last Stand Cyclops and Professor X were disintegrated by Jean Grey to show just how powerful she can be. That film may not have been that enjoyable, but when that happened… we were all SHOOKETH. No, that’s not a spoiler. You’ve had time lol.

What you think GOC fam? If the report is true, who do you think will be the one to meet their untimely end? Let us know in the comments below.
