Animated Film Starring Justice League Cartoon Cast May Be Possible
Not since Justice League Unlimited concluded has the original cast of the DC Animated Universe all appeared in the same project at once. The first Justice League cartoon, which ran from 2001 to 2004, starred Kevin Conroy as Batman, George Newman as Superman (who’d replaced STAS‘ Tim Daly), Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman, Carl Lumbly as Martian Manhunter, Phil LaMarr as John Stewart, Michael Rosenbaum as Flash, and Maria Canals-Barrera as Hawkgirl. If a recent tweet from @AnimatedJL is to believed, it seems the gang would be willing to get back together for another adventure.
I have spoken with @susaneisenberg1 and She told me, if we want a Justice League animated movie with the original cast, we need to let WB know. Tweet @WBHomeEnt with the hashtag #JLReunion
Also, Andrea Romano will even come out of retirement to direct it!#JLReunion pic.twitter.com/Uq5cQFcPS8— #JLReunion (@AnimatedJL) November 21, 2017
According to the AnimatedJL account, Wonder Woman herself, Susan Eisenberg, has voiced interest in reprising her role for animation once more. Further, the actress reportedly encourages fans to reach out to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in an effort to have the studio consider producing an original Justice League film that would star the original cast. If such a feature is green lit, the recently retired voice director Andrea Romano, who’s responsible for much of the voice talent WB’s DC ventures have collected over the years, may step in the booth to help out one last time.
At the time of writing, there’s been no official word as to the potential project’s status. However, Eisenberg has interacted with fans in the thread stemming from @AnimatedJL’s posting, which seems to confirm she has indeed spoken with whomever runs the account.
