‘Significant Event’ Highlights ‘Agents of SHIELD’ 100th Episode
As it enters its fifth season, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will hit a big TV milestone, its 100th episode.
Season five is set to feature Coulson and the team in outer space, fighting an unknown enemy.
At New York Comic Con, comicbook.com spoke with Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb about what to expect from the special episode.
“Look, this is not going to come as a surprise to anyone that’s ever seen a 100th episode, that there will be a significant event,” said Loeb. “That’s all I can tell you. They gotta get home from space!”
In the season four finale, after defeating evil robot AIDA the team was taken by a mysterious agency, and in the next scene Coulson woke up on a space station.
There is speculation that the storyline may connect SHIELD to the cosmic universe of the MCU.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD premieres its fifth season Friday, Dec. 1 at 8 pm on ABC with a two-hour episode.
