Queen Sugar, Insecure Dominate NAACP Image Award TV Nominations
For most people November signals the start of the holidays. In Hollywood it means it’s time for awards season. The NAACP Image Awards has kicked things off with the announcement of its TV nominees.
The Ava DuVernay/Oprah Winfrey drama Queen Sugar leads all shows with seven nods. It’s followed by Issa Rae’s HBO comedy Insecure with six nominations.
Rae received four noms including Entertainer of the Year, where she will compete against DuVernay, Bruno Mars, Chance the Rapper, Jay-Z and Chadwick Boseman.
