Official First Trailer For ‘Rampage’
Warner Bros. will be focusing on expanding their video game film adaptations in 2018, as it is the year films like the Tomb Raider reboot and Rampage are the main ones in Warner’s slate.
Rampage has been in development ever since 2011 -when Warner acquired the film rights- but didn’t actually had the green light until Brad Peyton was hired to be the director back in 2015, right after he directed San Andreas, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who will be the main character of this film as well.
The film will follow the basic principle of the original game, with Johnson playing primatologist Davis Okoye, who will team up the disgraced genetic engineer Dr Kate Caldwell, played by Naomie Harris, in order to help the military stop the monsters – an ape, an alligator, and a wolf, all created from a genetic experiment gone wrong – from destroying the world.
The film’s main villain -the man who turns the animals into giant monsters- will be Burke, the leader of the paramilitary group in-charge of bringing down the monsters, played by Joe Manganiello, who will be accompanied by Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Agent Russell and Marley Shelton as one of the astronauts.
Rampage trailer is expected to be played ahead of Justice League, which is in every theatre near you.
