Carmen Ejogo Cast In Season Three of ‘True Detective’

Season three of the HBO crime anthology series True Detective made headlines recently for hiring Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali as its leading man.

Based on a report from Deadline, it looks like they have found their female lead in English-Nigerian actress Carmen Ejogo. If Ejogo looks familiar you may have seen her in films like the Sparkle remake, playing Coretta Scott King in Ava DuVernay’s Selma and most recently she just wrapped filming the sequel to Fanastic Beasts And Where To Find Them reprising her role as Seraphina Picquery. Pairing Ejogo with Ali is sure to be a match made in Thespian heaven. The two powerhouse will undoubtedly command the screen.

Ejogo will be playing Amelia Reardon, an Arkansas school teacher with a connection to two missing children in 1980 and Ali will play Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.
