Back on April Fool’s Day, Arika, developer of the Street Fighter EX series, released a trailer for a game simply titled “Mysterious Fighting Game”.
According to Arika’s founder, Akira Nishitani, the game’s “naming troubles” have come to an end, and the game is officially titled Fighting EX Layer. The game, which will be released on the PlayStation 4, will be holding a beta test for two weeks, starting on December 11.
During the beta, the game will make six characters available: Kairi, Garuda, Skullomania, Darun Mister, Allen Snider, and Shirase. The game will incorporate soft character customization, allowing players to choose certain combos and movesets for different characters they pick. The changes are called the Gougi System, which Nishitani hopes will switch up the possibilities of range within matches and will leave players wondering, “What kind of crazy thing can I do to my opponent this time?”
More details on Fighting EX Layer and other games will be coming out this December at Sony’s PlayStation Experience.
