Viola Davis to Star in Terry McMillan’s ‘I Almost Forgot About You’
Oscar and Emmy winning actress Viola Davis is set to star in Universal’s adaptation of the Terry McMillan novel I Almost Forgot About You.
Davis will play Georgia Young, a twice-divorced, successful optometrist. Despite a life, full of great friends and family, she hasn’t felt a romantic spark in a while, and feeling bored and restless. She decides it’s time to change, and goes on a wild journey of self-discovery, reuniting with old lovers, and getting a brand new lease on life.

The film will be directed by Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip) and written by Ron Bass, who previously worked with McMillan on Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back.
Davis and her husband Julius Tennon are producing through their JuVee Productions, alongside Lee’s Blackmaled Productions.
Davis is currently starring in the fourth season of How to Get Away With Murder, airing Thursdays at 10 pm on ABC. It returns from its midseason hiatus Thursday, Jan. 18.
