Sony Developing Spider-Man Spinoff Movie Featuring Morbius The Living Vampire
Sony may not have Spider-Man right now, but that hasn’t stopped them from building a universe of spinoff movies around other Spider-Man characters.
The studio is in production on Venom starring Tom Hardy and planning Silver and Black, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and based on Silver Sable and Black Cat.
Now, news comes that it is continuing its plans with a film featuring Morbius the Living Vampire.

The movie is being written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who worked on Power Rangers.
Morbius is biochemist Dr. Michael Morbius, who while trying to cure his blood disorder with an experimental treatment, ended up turning himself into a vampire.
As he tried and failed many times to cure his vampirism, he and Spider-Man have frequently ended up on opposite sides. Over the years Morbius has become more of an anti-hero than a straight-forward villain.
It will be interesting to see what story the studio decides to tell for Morbius.
Venom is scheduled to kick off Sony’s Spider-Man universe October 5, 2018.
Spider-Man can next be seen with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War May 4, 2018.
What do you think of a Morbius movie? Who should play him?
