Netflix isn’t the only streaming service pushing out original content with top tier talent. Amazon has produced amazing series like Transparent and The Man On High Castle and the cycle will continue with a new series starring Julia Roberts called Homecoming.
Now it is being reported that Canadian-born actor Stephan James has been cast as the male lead in the series.
James will play a young military veteran named Walter Cruz who is described as a man with a underlying confidence and a quiet sense of humor. James’ star is definitely on the rise. This role will be added to a growing list of formidable roles in films like Selma and his portrayal as Olympic gold medlist Jesse James in the film Race. He was also recently cast as the lead in Barry Jenkins’ next film If Beale Street Could Talk.
Homecoming is said to be a psychological thriller about a secret government facility whose workers are eager to return to civilian life. Roberts will play a case worker named Heidi and James’ character will be one of her clients.
No premiere date has been announced but production on the series is said to begin in April 2018. Are you excited for Stephan’s new role? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
