It was reported back in April that musician, Drake, had an interest in starring in UK television series, Top Boy. But since then, there hasn’t been much of an update, until now.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drake will be reviving the drama series for Netflix. The series, which debuted on Channel 4 in the UK lasted for two seasons before coming to an end back in 2013.
Netflix which holds the rights to the first two seasons of the show will air the third season in 2019, with the creative team from the original series back for season three. Lebron James’ SpringHill Entertainment will also executive produce.
The show is set to pick up where the second season left off with protagonist, Dushane, returning from exile to his home in London to regain his spot on top of the drug market.
Drake caught the original show on YouTube and he said, “That human element drew me in.”
