Disney’s 2019 Streaming Service To Develop A Star Wars: Live-Action TV Series
Disney and Lucasfilm bring more Star Wars news. In addition to the announcement of a new Rian Johnson-led Star Wars trilogy, Disney has also announced that the Star Wars Live-Action television show will be in the works.
Variety reports that Disney chairman Bob Iger made the announcement himself during a Disney’s quarterly earnings call. The live-action series will reportedly be developed and released in the company’s entertainment streaming service, that is set to kick off in late 2019.
Comicbook.com reports that in addition to Star Wars, the streaming service will have shows based on “Pixar’s Monsters Inc., the Disney Channel’s High School Musical franchise and an original series from Marvel.”
