‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Will Make A Time Jump

No one questions the fact that Stranger Things is one of the biggest hits of the year, and while we are eager for season 3, it may not come the way we once imagined or percived.

Even though season 2 premiered just a little more than a week ago, questions about what’s next for the party and the town of Hawkins keep pressing the mind of those who are fans of the series. As production for season three isn’t expected to start up until much later and there’s no information on when the third collection of episodes will debut, most people have imagined that with series 3 we will be presented with another one year gap.

However, the Duffer Brothers -Matt and Ross- know that things are not as simple as they appear, as the kids actors in the show, while still kids, keep growing so fast is difficult to make them act like junior highschoolers, so they’ll most likely make a time jump when series three premiere.

In a recent interview with Yahoo!, Matt and Ross talked about this time jump while sharing an anecdote about Caleb McLaughlin, Lucas Sinclair.

“It will have to be somewhat of a time gap, because the kids are, I mean, they already look so much older,” Ross explained. “No matter what we want to do, I remember when we were originally talking about Season 2, we wanted to just start it in Christmas and just go from there, but then we realized the kids are just too old, so we had to jump forward. Even the latest trailer, we had to loop a line with [Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas]. He sounds like a man now. It creeps me out. He’s going to be driving to set next year.

Although is true that they don’t look as young as they used to be in season one, is important to recall that most of them are still kids, like Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, both of them 13-year-olds, or Finn Wolfhard, a 14-year-old. The “eldest” of the party are Sadie Sink and Gaten Matarazzo, both of them 15, and Caleb McLaughlin who is 16 as of this moment.

However, it certainly would be interesting to see the party members dealing with highschool problems as well with Upside-Down monsters, or Nancy, Steve and Johnathan dealing with College -as Joe Keery is 25, Natalia Dyer is 20 and Charlie Heaton is 23- and taking care of their younger sibblings.

What do you think about this news? In which school year would you like to see the Stranger Things kids when the time jump happens?

  1. Freshmen in high school would be dope…there are so many plot devices to use for those particular characters at that stage of age.
