Deborah Snyder Says That ‘Justice League’ Is “Bigger Than Any Director”

Despite what many might believe, is the characters that drive the story, that keep us engaged and waiting for the thing to happen, no the director behind the story. Deborah Snyder –Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and Justice League producer- has said so herself, at the press Junket of the film in London this past weekend.

“For us this whole thing is bittersweet because we have been working on this franchise for the past, you know, almost 8 years when we started developing the script for Man of Steel, and then moved on to BvS and also Zack developed the story for Wonder Woman, which was leading up to the point of Justice League, where these characters were finally going to come together, I mean this was a really great heroes journey and journey for these characters to be the characters that they are today, so not being able to complete his vision was extremely difficult, so that makes it hard, but we were lucky that we already had Joss working on script pages, and, you know, our feeling is that we’re hoping people don’t think about how the movie was made when they went to see it because these characters are bigger than any director. They’re bigger than any of us, and we love and adore these characters, and we love and adore all these people here.”

Although it was sad to learn that Zack Snyder was leaving post-production of Justice League due to a personal tragedy, it was good that Joss Whedon -the man who took charge after Snyder’s departure- especially after learning that they’ve been working on the DCEU for the past eight years.

It’s good to hear that, no matter what is the characters that matter and that, from the beginning -8 years ago- they’ve been planning to bring us a lighter tone and something more resembling the characters we grew up.
