‘Stranger Things’ Season Three Will Feature More of Erica

Season two of Stranger Things is finally availabe for streaming on Netflix and the reception is mostly positive. There is some chatter on whether the new season has lived up to the hype but overall the season has received positive reviews.

The twin brother duo behind the creation of the show, Matt and Ross Duffer, recently sat down with Yahoo Entertainment to talk about season two and some of its stand out characters and moments. One stand-out character in particular came in the form of Erica, Lucas’ little sister, played by 11-year-old actress Priah Ferguson. She had no interest in her brother’s nerdy antics but jumped at every opportunity to tease him about his luck with girls.

Here’s what the Duffer Brothers had to say about the character:

“Ferguson was just a local hire we made in Atlanta. Erica wasn’t even supposed to be in season two as much as she was. We fell in love with this girl. There will definitely be more Erica in Season three. That is the fun thing about the show — you discover stuff as you’re filming. We were able to integrate more of her in, but not as much you want because the story was already going. ‘We got to use more Erica’ — that was one of the first things we said in the writers’ room. I thought she’s very GIF-able, if that’s a word. She was great!”

Stranger Things is built on its eye for hiring young talent, so Priah Ferguson’s presence on screen is enjoyable but should be no surprise. Are you looking forward to seeing more Erica in the third season? Let us know in the comments below.
