As Netflix continues to deal with sexual assault allegations against star Kevin Spacey, the streaming service and producer Media Rights Capital have indefinitely suspended production on the sixth season of House of Cards.

“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” the two companies said in a joint statement to Deadline.

Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp has accused Spacey of making unwanted sexual advances toward him when Rapp was 14.

In response to the allegations, Netflix immediately announced that the series would end with its sixth season. However, the halt in production now puts the whole season in doubt.

Media Rights Capital and the streaming giant are exploring spinoff ideas, including one focused on Michael Kelly’s Doug Stamper.

House of Cards was once Netflix’s franchise program. It was the drama that made the rest of Hollywood take the streaming service seriously as a TV network.
