‘Thor: Ragnarok’ International Box Office Opens With $107 Million
With overwhelmingly positive reviews and very high levels of fan anticipation, it’s no surprise that Thor: Ragnarok had a Hulk sized opening at the international box office. In 50% of its overseas market, the film earned $107.6 million.
If it continues these big numbers, Ragnarok could be on its way to becoming Marvel Studios’ most successful Thor movie.

That number also beats the international openings for Doctor Strange’s $86 million and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s $101 million.
Thor: Ragnarok features Hela, the Goddess of Death (Cate Blanchett) invading Asgard, taking over and banishing Thor. He ends up in the gladiatorial contests of Sakaar, where he runs into his Avengers teammate The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Idris Elba, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins, Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters Nov. 3.
