‘House Of Cards’ Will End With Season 6
Both Media Rights Capital and Netflix have heard what people had to say about Kevin Spacey this last couple of days and have stated, in a shared statement today, that they will be pulling the plug in House of Cards after its sixth season.
“Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”
Actor Anthony Rapp -currently working in Star Trek Discovery as Lt. Stamets – accused Kevin Spacey of making sexual advances on him when he was 14 years old -at the time Spacey was 26- and in response to those accusations, Spacey said it was a “drunken mistake”, that he was “sorry” and that from this moment forward he will “live his life as a gay man”.
House of Cards season six is currently on production, it began only two weeks ago, and while Netflix and Media Rights Capital were thinking about ending the show for a while, it was the recent events that decided for them that it was time to end the show.
Key cast members and creatives of the show were alerted of this decision this morning through a series of calls.
