Lady Sif Isn’t in ‘Thor Ragnarok’ due to Scheduling Conflicts
Unfortunately for all Lady Sif fans, there will not be an appearance of the Asgardian warrior in the upcoming film, Thor: Ragnarok. The character has been played by actress Jamie Alexander, who in 2015 was cast in the NBC show, Blindspot. The show focuses on a woman who was found naked and tattooed in a bag in the middle of Times Square with no memory of who she was or where she came from.
Marvel didn’t really say much about Sif’s absence from the upcoming Thor film, but Alexander has come forward and said that it was due to scheduling conflicts:
“I was asked, but the timing of when they were going to shoot and when Blindspot was gonna shoot — it was pretty much the same time. So there was a conflict there. I was hoping for more of a notice from [the studio] so I could make it work, but it was a short notice thing. They called and said, ‘Hey, by the way, would you come do this?’ I said there is no way I can make that work that fast. It couldn’t happen. They were on a different continent! So it was sad. I was bummed about it.”
That being said, the actress has no hard feelings for not being in the film and she is, in fact, looking forward to seeing it. “It’ll be nice to see all those great people in that movie. I’m super excited for it. I also heard that it’s incredibly funny which makes me really happy.”
