‘Ghostbusters’ Creator Dan Aykroyd Interested in Live-Action TV Adaptation
In recent times, the Ghostbusters franchise has reemerged and since its conception, it has taken practically every medium and merchandise concept by storm. From movies to video games to clothing, Ghostbusters just about covered it all. Except for a television show. In the age of remakes and bringing back the old and making it new again (examples such as Heathers and even Disney with Beauty and the Beast and upcoming Mulan), maybe there’s a chance for Ghostbusters.
Well, co-creator and actor of the popular franchise Dan Aykroyd stated his interest for a live-action adaptation of Ghostbusters. He said, “I can see several possibilities there. You know? Take a cue from these guys in Stranger Things and maybe have the Ghostbusters in high school or something.”
Ghostbusters featuring the original cast
Even if a tv show doesn’t work out (because that’s just not how Hollywood works), Ghostbusters is so prevalent that it is constantly being referenced in pop culture (i.e. in Stranger Things). And if someone does pick up Ghostbusters for a television remake, they know who to call (hint, it’s Aykroyd).
