Rumor Alert: Gabrielle Union to Star in ‘Bad Boys’ Spinoff TV Series
Even though Bad Boys 3 has been stuck in Hollywood development Hell since the second movie came out in 2003, the franchise has found another way to continue.
According to Deadline, a TV show centered around Gabrielle Union’s character in Bad Boys 2 is being shopped around to all the major networks.
In the movie, Union played Syd Burnett, the sister of Martin Lawrence’s Marcus, who also happened to be an undercover DEA agent. She and Will Smith’s Mike were love interests, but ultimately decided to just be friends.

Among the series’ producers is the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer. The Blacklist writers/producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier are penning the show’s script.
Union could most recently be seen in the BET series Being Mary Jane, which will wrap up with a two-hour movie next year.
Currently the busy actress/author is touring in support of her book We’re Going to Need More Wine.
