Regina King Cast In Barry Jenkins New Film ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’

After two Academy Award wins for his groundbreaking film Moonlight, Barry Jenkins is at it again working on his next project. If Beale Street Could Talk is currently filming in New York and is based on the James Baldwin novel of the same name.

Now, Deadline is reporting that Emmy-winning actress Regina King has been added to the already star-studded cast. King is a formidable actress whose resume goes beyond the front of the camera. Besides starring in the anthology series America Crime, which got her three Emmy nominations and two wins, she also sits in the director’s chair from time to time helming episodes of NBC’s hit This Is Us, Showtime’s hit show Shameless and many more. King is definitely a wonderful addition to this film.
