After many changes in the DCEU -Zack Snyder leaving post-production of Justice League and Ben Affleck stepping down as director for The Batman where Deathstroke was supposed to be the main villain- everyone was left to wonder what would happen to the iconic villain, including Joe Manganiello, the actor in charge to play the part.

But now, things have changed as today we learned that Warner is in early talks with director Garreth Evans to write and direct a solo film based on the famous and deadly assassin, according to The Hollywood Reporter and confirmed by Garreth Evans himself through his Instagram account.

No deals have been sealed, but the fact that Evans has shared a photo of a Deathstroke mask is pretty telling, no matter who you look at it.  But, according to THR, Manganiello has not signed a deal as well, so it’s not set in stone just yet.

Evans is best known for his work in the 2011 Indonesian martial arts film The Raid and its sequel, which were praised for their fight sequences. His next film is the period thriller The Apostle, debuting on Netflix.
