‘Avengers 4’ Might be The Last MCU Film for The Russo Brothers
Not only will Avengers 4 bring major changes to the MCU itself, but apparently it will be the last time the Russo Brothers -Joe and Anthony- will work with Marvel Studios.
On a recent interview with Collider, actor Josh Brolin -who plays Thanos in the upcoming Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4- talked about what it was like to work with the Russos and revealed that for them, Avengers 4 is “it”.
“… I think they were very happy where they said, ‘We didn’t really realize that Thanos is going to be as complex as he is,’ and I think they were very appreciative with the stuff that we’re bringing to it. Also, I think that they’re in a position very openly and raw-ly where they’re like, ‘We would never do this again. This is a one-time deal. To put these many successful actors together is such a pain in the ass, but it’s been worth it. We’re doing two movies. One back to back, and this is it for us. Then we’ll go off in another direction,’ but this is a very, very, very ambitious project that I think is going to pay off in a big way.”

Joe, Anthony and Chris Evans on Captain America The Winter Soldier.
Joe and Anthony’s position is understandable, as although over the years there have been some ensemble movies like Avengers, none of them compares to the magnitude, in cast and storytelling, to Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4, as they are the epitome of ten years, which began with Iron Man back in 2008.
Righ now, the Russo brothers are busy with production for Avengers 4, as Avengers Infinity War wrapped production earlier this year, so they are in a well-deserved rest when all of this is over.
What do you think about this news? What’s your opinion on the Russos leaving?
