Scott Haze Reportedly in Talks for Mystery ‘Venom’ Role
It has already been announced that the Venom film will not exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that it will also be thematically different than Sony and Marvel Studio‘s usual take on Comic films, taking the more dark and horror-themed route. The film will be directed by Ruben Fleischer and is set to be released next fall and it seems like Scott Haze will now be joining the cast of what is expected to be a highly anticipated film.
Haze first rose to fame back in 2013 when he stared as Lester Ballard in the James Franco directed Child of God, based on the novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy. The same year, Variety named him one of their Top 10 Stars to Watch and a few months later was named The New York Times Breaththrough Performer of 2014.
Haze’s role in the film is still currently unannounced and unconfirmed, but some are already pegging him as the antagonist Carnage, especially considering the fact that his role in Child of God was that of a psychopath who slowly disintegrates into madness as time goes on.
Reed Scott from Veep is also reportedly joining the film which already includes a cast of Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed and Tom Hardy, who will be playing the role of the titular character, Venom.
