Karl Urban Thinks a Female Thor Movie is “well overdue”

Ever since 2014, Jane Foster has held Thor’s mantle after Thor lost the ability to wield Mjolnir… or at least that’s what happened on Earth 616 in Marvel Comics.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe going under some changes, it’s time for people to start wondering which characters might be put on the screen on future phases. And, for Karl Urban, Jane Foster’s Thor is one of them.

In a recent interview with Monkeys Fighting Robots, the actor was asked whether he thought fans could “handle” a film about a female Thor, to which the actor replied that is long overdue.

I think it’s time – I think it’s well overdue, absolutely. I’d like to see that movie, why not.”

Then he mixed Captain Marvel with a “female Captain America” but fixed his mistake claiming he has never actually read comics, that his first introduction to the Marvel Universe was through Jon Favreau’s Iron Man.
