Sandra Bullock’s ‘Bird Box’ Attracts An All-Star Cast
Netflix is adapting Josh Malerman’s debut novel, Bird Box. The post-apocalyptic story follows a woman who must guide herself and two children to safety after being lead into a forest blindfolded. The journey is made difficult due to the unseen dangerous in the forest.

Sandra Bullock will star as the lead and Susanne Bier (The Night Manager) is set to helm the project. The script was written by Eric Heisserer, who scripted Arrival. Netflix acquired the rights to develop the film after Universal Studios passed.
Joining Bullock is an group of incredibly talented actresses and actors. Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel), Sarah Paulson, John Malkovich, Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom), Danielle Macdonald (Patti Cake$), and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out).
Rhodes is best known for Moonlight, and will be seen next in the Predator reboot. Salazar was cast as the lead in adaptation of Atila: Battle Angel, but will be seen next in Maze Runner: The Death Cure. Paulson stars alongside Bullock in the upcoming Oceans 8. Macdonald was just in the critically acclaimed Patti Cake$. Lil Rel Howery starred on the The Carmichael Show and has a supporting role in Get Out.
It is unclear what roles these actors will play.
