Kevin Feige Would ‘Love’ to Work With Taika Waititi Again

Following the rave reviews for Thor: Ragnarok Hollywood has been wondering what director Taika Waititi’s next project will be.

There’s been talk that he’s the frontrunner for Warner Bros. live-action Akira film. However, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige told reporters at the Thor: Ragnarok press junket he would like to continue working with the director.

“I would love, love, love to work with Taika again and I have every confidence that we will,” said Feige. “What we’re working on right now is the next six movies. The next six movies that will bring us to Untitled Avengers in May 2019, which carries off a lot of what you see in this movie. In some cases very directly, and continues to build and grow.”

It isn’t unusual to see Marvel have certain directors shepherd specific characters in a distinct voice like James Gunn with Guardians of the Galaxy or Peyton Reed with Ant-Man.

Waititi has been widely praised for bringing comedy into the Thor story and for his faithful adaptation of Jack Kirby’s style.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters Nov. 3 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Idris Elba, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins.

Would you like to see Taika Waititi continue to work in the MCU?
