Will Smith, Tom Holland to Team Up for ‘Spies in Disguise’

The animated movie Spies in Disguise has cast Will Smith and Tom Holland as the stars of their feature.

The film is based on ‘Pigeon: Impossible’, an animated short by Lucas Martell. The short followed a secret agent who incites a global conflict after a pigeon gets stuck in a government-issued nuclear briefcase. Blue Sky Studios and Chernin Entertainment will be overseeing the Fox Animation Production.

Nick Bruno, whose credits include films such as Epic and The Peanuts Movie, will co-direct the film alongside Troy Quane who has worked on Ice Age: Collision Course and the upcoming Ferdinand.

Smith’s upcoming recent projects include the Netflix Original Bright, and has signed on to portray the “Genie” in Disney’s live-action retelling of Aladdin.

Holland has just wrapped up success from his standalone film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and will appear next in the sci-fi adventure Chaos Walking, as well as The Current War, a historical drama.

Under their new studio chief, Stacey Snider, Fox Animation has been revitalizing their animated output with the goal of producing one animated film each year. Spies in Disguise will be an integral part of this rejuvenation when it releases on January 18, 2019.

How exciting will it be to hear Smith and Holland voicing animated characters side by side? Let us know what you think!
