Boom! Studios’ new line of WWE comics has featured superstars like Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, but now its next stories will feature the women’s revolution.
For non wrestling fans, the women’s revolution marked the return of hard-hitting, serious women’s wrestling on par with the men.
The new story will debut in WWE #14 and “take readers on a journey, revealing the truth behind the ascension of Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Bayley as they transformed the face of sports entertainment, moving up from NXT to the main roster, changing the landscape so that female wrestlers were no longer called “Divas.”
“It’s been amazing to watch women in the WWE make history night after night over the past couple years, and we’re so excited to give the WWE Universe even more of the Women’s Revolution,” said Chris Rosa, Associate Editor, BOOM! Studios. “The team is ready to give fans a new look at the incredible moments and matches that have inspired so many.”
WWE #14 features the work of writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Serg Acuña, and will be available in February 2018.
