‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Writer Kelly Marcel Working on Latest ‘Venom’ Script

With a recent rash of casting news, it’s clear Sony is moving full steam ahead on Venom.

Producers have also brought in screenwriter Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey) to work on a new draft of the script.

Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) wrote the first script. It’s not uncommon for big productions to go through rewrites after the studio sees the first draft. However, bringing in a new writer means producers may be looking for a new direction for the project.
