Could Silk Make An Appearance In ‘Infinity War’?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become well known for its easter eggs and setting the stage for new characters and storylines to be foreshadowed in current projects. This has become the case for this summer’s hit Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film contained a lot of easter eggs that would give diehard fans lots of things to look forward to, including the presence of Miles Morales. However, Miles isn’t the only Spider-hero that was subtly introduced.
Actress Tiffany Espensen had a small role in Homecoming playing a character named Cindy. Many people are speculating that this character is actually Cindy Moon, a classmate of Peter Parker’s who in the comics was also bit by a radioactive spider that gave her super-powers causing her to take on the persona Silk.
Now Comicbookmovie is reporting via IMDB that another film credit has been added to Espensen’s imdb profile in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War as the same character.
Could this be Marvel’s attempt at laying the ground work for Silk’s introduction into the Spider-verse? In the leaked trailer of Infinity War Spider-Man was seen injured and bloody while apologizing to Iron-Man. Could Peter Parket meet an untinely demise or will an extensive injury halt his acts of heroism? If Peter Parker is in recovery from saving the world, that could open up the door for a new Spider-type hero to stand in his place. Nothing has been confirmed on whether Espensen’s portrayal of Cindy is actually Cindy Moon from the comics but only time will tell.
