Guillermo del Toro Opens Up On Hellboy Recasting
The Hellboy reboot is finally underway, and after a prolonged silence, acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro has finally shared his thoughts about recasting Hellboy and the reboot as a whole.
Fans of the cult sci-fi classic will remember that Ron Perlman was cast as Hellboy both in the 2004 film and its 2008 sequel, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, with del Toro taking the helm as the director. In this upcoming reboot, both del Toro and Perlman were dropped from the project and David Harbour cast as the titular role.
In an interview with Screen Geek, del Toro had this to say about David Harbour taking on the role:
“I mean I like him. I don’t know him and I’m not involved with the movie. But I sure wish them luck, man. He’s a great guy.”
Many have been vocal about this Hellboy reboot. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
