While it was recently reported that Kiersey Clemons’ Justice League cameo had been cut, she is still set to be Iris West in Flashpoint.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Clemons explained that there is some question about where or when Iris is from.
“Because of going back and forth, past and future with The Flash,” she said, “you don’t even know what time period you actually meet Iris.”
Considering The Flash’s propensity for time travel, it makes sense that the Iris in the movie may not be the Iris fans know from comics or The CW TV show.
Clemons also discussed how she plans to make her Iris different from Candice Patton’s TV Iris.
“I mean, to be honest, I haven’t tried to pull from her at all,” she said. “I want my Iris West to be its own world.”
For the unfamiliar, Flashpoint features Barry Allen going back in time to save his mother and causing a new chaotic timeline. The drastic changes to the timeline include Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s father, as Batman and a worldwide destructive war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
At this point it’s not known how faithful the film will be to the original comic.
The Flash can next be seen in Justice League, which hits theaters Nov. 17.
Flashpoint starring Ezra Miller, Kiersey Clemons, Billy Crudup, Ray Fisher and maybe Gal Gadot does not currently have a release date.
