Elongated Man’s Powers “Big Mystery” in ‘The Flash’ Season 4
Team Flash’s latest recruit is the most anticipated mystery in the upcoming Season 4 of The Flash. Ralph Dibny, aka Elongated Man, is under a bit of speculation regarding the origins of his powers.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed to TV Insider that Ralph’s source of power will remain a secret. He teased,
“That’s one of the big mysteries of the season.”
The powers of the other members of the crew – Flash, Vibe, Killer Frost – all derived from a single particle accelerator explosion in Central City, but that may not be the case for Elongated Man;s origin.
Kreisberg also touched on the relationships between Ralph and the other characters in the series, revealing that,
“There’s going to be a lot of conflict between them in terms of how to be a good guy. Ralph is hitting on everybody all the time. He’s brash and loud and doesn’t listen.”
Elongated Man was created by John Broome and Camine Infantino and had a first appearance back in 1960 in The Flash #112 and has since appeared in several parts of the DC Universe and has been a member of the Justice League. The Flash’s Elongated Man is described as:
“A fast-talking private investigator with investigative skills that rival those of Batman. Upon discovering he has the power to stretch his body to any shape or form, Dibny uses his new abilities to help Team Flash solve one of Central City’s greatest mysteries.”
