20th Century Fox Submits ‘Logan’ for Oscar Consideration

When Logan hit theaters it was met with nothing but the highest of praises; now that Oscar season is nearing, I want ALL the awards to go to Hugh Jackman and his last run as Wolverine. The film was like no other in the X-Men series as it served as a stand-off &  sequel to the other X-Men movies.

Logan is arguably one of the best superhero/comic-book movies of all time, I stand by that statement firmly. The film follows an aging and slowly dying Wolverine and a Professor Charles Xavier with a brain deteriorating disease that assisted in wiping out the X-Men. The two meet Laura aka X-23, a clone of Wolverine played by Dafne Keen.

I mean the movie could win a number of Oscars. The performances of Dafne Keen, Hugh Jackman & Sir Patrick Stewart were all on point and deserve recognition. I’m sure Fox is hoping to land a Best Picture nomination as well. Comic-book movies are often not considered for any awards other than sound and visual effects. Heath Ledger was one of the first (if not thee first) actor to receive an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in The Dark Knight.

After Deadpool‘s Oscar snub, do you guys think that Logan stands a chance? If not are you all ready to riot with me? Let us know what you think!

You can catch The Academy Awards hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on March 4th, 2018!
